Kabula Update

In January People with Faces financed a two year tailoring class for Kabula Peter at the Bukumbi Care Centre in Mwanza. We regularly keep in contact with Kabula to see how she is getting on with her studies and the latest update for the centre is:

“Kabula has made a great start to her studies and is very happy at school. She has proved to be a fast learner and has already made skirts for her younger sister. The next task is to learn how to make shirts and shorts so that she can make school uniforms for other students at Bukumbi. She is also going to make a school bag for herself and classmate Rebecca. She is enjoying living away from home with the other girls from Bukumbi and is learning to live independently, with support from the others she is learning about budgeting money and cooking different things. Unfortunately Kabula has had a few health problems this term with her asthma and has had to visit the doctor a few times, but now has the correct medicine and things seem to be improving. Kabula will return to Bukumbi with the other girls over the Easter holiday and support the sewing group at the centre.”
